We’ve been collecting Halloween decorations over the years but as the kids are getting older and becoming so much more aware and excitable, we decided to go all out this year! When October arrived we put our Autumn decorations up, then as Halloween drew closer we swapped some of them for some spooky décor! It’s nice to change things up and means the kids get to help decorate the house twice in one month.
I changed all the gold candles and accessories in favour of darker ones. All of the candle sticks in this display were bought in charity shops (starting from as little as 25p each). Some of them have been sprayed black with a cheap can of spray paint.
To give some height on the right hand side of the display I added some cook books and covered them in cheap cob webs from the pound shop. The kids love the result as the candle sticks and skulls make it look really creepy!
The ghost tea light holder is from the pound shop, they do different designs each year so I always make sure I pick one up to add to the collection!
Most of the other decorations are from Homesense (you have to be super quick as they sell out quickly each year), and the other bits and bobs are from the pound shop and Wilkos. Lots of cobwebs were wrapped around the big gold mirror, and the rest is just witches and skulls.
Its really cheap and easy halloween decor a but looks so good. I got my cobwebs from the pound shop which came with little spiders and the spider web table runner was from eBay. The 3D bats on the walls were another eBay find and look really cool and effective around the mirror.
I’ve got even more ideas up my sleeve for next year!
